Four Dead, Juvenile Critically Injured in Apparent Stabbing Attack in Houma
HOUMA, La. — September 12, 2026 — At least four people are dead and a juvenile is critically injured following what authorities describe as an apparent series of stabbing incidents in the Ashland Drive area of Houma, Louisiana.
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet confirmed Saturday that the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incidents, which unfolded in the 200 block of Ashland Drive and nearby homes.
Deputies initially responded to the area after receiving reports involving a juvenile suffering from apparent stab wounds. The injured juvenile was located by deputies and transported by Acadian Ambulance Service Air Med to an out-of-area hospital, where the victim remains in critical condition.
As deputies continued their investigation, they discovered multiple deceased victims inside nearby homes.
At least four victims have been pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet publicly released the identities of the deceased victims or provided detailed information about the circumstances leading up to the stabbing incidents. 
According to preliminary information circulating locally, some of the the victims and injured juvenile are believed to be members of the same family. However, authorities have not yet officially confirmed those details or released the victims’ names.
Suspect Identified
A suspect identified in local reports as 47-year-old Kaegan Solet is reportedly being sought in connection with the deadly incidents. Local reports have described Solet as a known offender with a criminal history. Law enforcement has not yet publicly released a full account of the suspect’s alleged involvement, and the investigation remains active.
Residents in the area are urged to remain alert as detectives continue working to establish exactly what happened and determine the circumstances surrounding each victim’s death.
